What are the energetic costs of cognition? I think this is a different question than asking about the costs of computation or the costs of "information processing." For background please see this paper by Russell Poldrack https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1878929314000413 Although written for a different purpose - this paper does at least make one think about the different claims that are made.
